I agree, but for what it's worth, I think the biggest beef that the mets have is when the try to provide advice and their expertise to amatures and it becomes rejected. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it can be a little annoying when someone claims something is occurring and won't accept evidence that says the opposite.

You just hit the nail on the head. BAM!

I'm sure that your categorization of professional meterologists
makes you feel good about yourself. That's rather sad.

I don't agree with them all of the time, but the fact is they are educated
and trained in this field. The ones that are here a kind enough to explain
things to others that we do not understand, so that we can better
understand how weather phenomena occurs,

Gee, what's next, the great one reappears?

Redder,

With all due respect...your particular post here at this topic is really uncalled for.

By third degree do you mean third BA/BS degree, or do you mean third Masters degree?

I'm not sure whether not having a degree makes one ignorant, but I am quite sure that a grad degree from a respected university in meteorology demonstrates that one is NOT ignorant.

Yes a degree of some kind is what I meant...Im just trying to point out that everyone is entitled to their opinions, and if they choose a scenario that a pro met doesnt agree with so be it! Leave them alone and let them have some fun. Yes I said FUN.

If the pro met would like to help the poster along with insightful comments on observations the forum member has made then great...and as of today thats what I've experienced on this board.

What teh hect was uncalled for in my last post?

Just take to heart Marshall's topic title...Let's all play nice :)

That includes being respectful to pro mets here at S2K...it seems many here (including myself) are able to have respect for them. :)

Wowsa....I guess you'd like to have a non-surgeon, imposter operate on you? A non-mechanical type person work on your car (that would be me, know very little about engines)? How about a kid in the cockpit the next time you board a Delta jet?

No thanks, I'll trust a pro-met's opinion b/c I know they've had extensive educational training to back up their opinions. That said, it is interesting to read non-pro-met's opinions as well, that's why this is an active board, but I respect a pro-met's opinion more. That's just the way it is!

To get back to Marshall's request......please re-read what he's asking all members to follow. Regular/lurker/new members - all of us! It really comes down to two simple requests.....two R's....

R -Respect (demonstrate respect towards others and you will receive the same treatment)
R- Restraint (before starting topic #27 on a TS, see if one exists already that you can reply on)

Thanks...

Mary

No.

none of those hypotheticals would happen if you got several opinions first.

Do you people see my point at all?

The only point we're seeing is your testing the waters toward the Administration of this site and what has been outlined. :larrow:

Miss Mary wrote:Seriously, I suspect what Marshall and Chad want here is not just praise (we're beyond that but it is appreciated I'm sure). What they want is....

Cooperation! Please re-read what Marshall is asking here and comply.

It's mid-June, lots can happen over the next few months.

Mary

Perfectly put, Miss Mary!! We are here to learn from our mets, not argue with them. They can help us learn much if we allow them to.

Nobody is preparing a case against you but we are watching you carefully. Try getting along with all the members here. Amateur and Pro. Respect is key rather than trying to provoke a response with every post.

Who is this "guest" person and why is he/she here? I suggest we don't feed the trolls.
