Who sees "BRET" in the NEAR future?
Half of the month of June is already over, and it has been like a roller coaster of emotions, we already have the first tropical system of the year, and the first name has been utilized. But, we still have some areas that may give us a surprise in the next 2 weeks. Disturbances have been forming in the Caribbean, in the Gulf of Mexico, and even the central Atlantic is starting to wake up.
Now, based on your understanding of computer models, knowledge gathered over the years, and possibly, inner feelings, will "Bret" form in the next 2 weeks before the month ends or will it form in July?
By the way, the waiting game continues!!!!
Thanks,
Sandy Delgado

Sandy just my opinion but the pattern now is largely unfavorable and I dont think that will change for at least several days. Being that we are more than halfway thru June and June is not typically a month we see tropical storms, I am gonna venture a guess that Brett will form in July. If im wrong i'lll take my crow with A1 sauce and a dash of pepper.

swimdude exactly what I said a couple of posts up. There should be the after July option because it is VERY realistic. The water temps are warm enough but the upper-level winds have been hostile across the entire Caribbean and Atlantic since the beginning of Hurricane Season. When you have disturbances in the Southern Caribbean moving NE, you know the setup isn't even close to being there yet.

The thread is about if & when we will see "Bret"..Arlene was'nt much but she had a name & @ times tried to get her act together & made a run @ hurricane strength..Conditions are'nt optimal for a major hurricane but thats not what Sandy asked..Another weak system that manages to get a name & possibly becomes something stronger is possible in the coming weeks.
