This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

BOC storms no longer moving much

#1 Postby Stormcenter » Wed Jun 15, 2005 11:05 am

The interesting thing to note is that the complex of
storms in the BOC is no longer moving westward much.
It looks like it's just sitting there so maybe that
is the reasoning behind the "possible" recon flights
and Invest. Hey just my 2 cents.

You're right about that but I don't see much movement northward either. I'm hoping we can get a little moisture out of this system because it's becoming VERY hot and dry once again.

Could this be the resurrection of Brett of 99? Hmmm

I sure hope not. Kind of like it though...small, BOC, warm waters...

Is there anything to steer it or is it just drifting around down there?

Looks like this may be another Florida panhandle event.

Looking at the water vapor loop you can see the gap...
the moisture in the area is starting to be drawn in that
direction... Panama City Beach area...

Looks like more rain for the same group of people...

tough to say if it'll be a storm or just rain...

It's disturbingly similar. When Bret first formed it was expected to go well into Mexico(not even close to Texas). Instead, it drifted westward and then northward.

i dont see it moving west. perhaps you have a different visual than the one i'm looking at...

looks like it's parked there and doing whatever those systems do.

This shows its movement, I do see a movement to the WNW at the end of the run.

I'm starting to think this is a done deal as well. It seems like the brunt of the energy is now over Mexico and continuing to drift west. Unless more storms can develop and persist in the BOC I doubt we'll see any development.

Looking at the visible sat pics this evening the most rotation of this system is on shore already near the extreme southern BOC drifting WNW
