Oh leave it for more then a couple of days! I come on here constantly and somehow missed this post till now *blushes* But honestly we are between storms... and you may have more people volunteer when the next storm comes brewing, and thus more peeps drop by that don't come on a voluntary basis.
I am so proud of your challenge! Had thought about doing it a time or two after hearing stuff on the news but you've made it easy to say YES!
If any thread deserves to be stickied at the top for a bit this is the one!

For our Coasties deployed downrange, contact Alicia (email below) and request an address from one of the various CG units:
ombudsmanpatforswa@yahoo.com
Alicia is the Ombudsmsn for US Coast Guard Patrol Forces Southwest Asia...She should be able to hook you up with some addresses, etc.
I sent an email earlier, but haven't heard back yet...probably 'cause it's the weekend...I'll advise once I hear back.
I keep reading on Fred's Place that our Coasties are "getting the short end of the stick" when it comes to basic essentials, for example, they don't even have a galley at which to eat, and have to go out on the economy. According to a recent Fred's Place post, $2.67 US equates to 1 dinar, so eating off-base can get very pricey.
