Bay of Campeche, as well as the huge flare up in the Caribbean. Could be a most interesting week or two ahead:

That's been firing the last few evenings. I guess that the easterlies are

This BOC thing is sure one impressive blob. Is there any indication of where this may be going? I'm sure we've seen storms in the past form in the BOC, and sit there for a while, gaining strength, and then making landfall.

Yes, they can just sit there and then make landfall - try Hurricane Audrey 1957. She was born in the BOC.

Hurricane Bret, 1999, Category 4 of 140 mph developed rather quick in the BOC.
