Well, I dont know about the aliens coming during a storm or bugs looking for a dry home to nest in but I do work in an Emergency Room and I do know a sure sign of a storm coming is alot of woman in labor... Back when Elena hit we had Frederic's sister, first cousin, mother, Frederic's other sister and his next door neighbors wife all come into the ER .... I vaguely remember seeing red and blue circular lights but I think they were taking Frederic away from the hospital...

How about the turtles :D there is ancient indian folklore relation between actions of sea turtles and hurricanes. Here is a story from the Florida times in Jacksonville from a few years ago about how the sea turtles didnt nest but Fleed JAX in 1964... The year Dora came ashore Jacksonville.

This year, there is concern that the sea turtles are not nesting for some reason

Also, there was mention of sea turtles nesting on higher ground last year in South Fla and they are noticing the nests are even higher this year.

May or may not mean anything but is interresting to say the least.

Oh here is a pic taken from Jacksonville.com showing a recent sea turtle track without laying its eggs-- What happenned?? He dont like us??? Does Jax stink??? :(

Most likely the turtle came ashore and then someone turned on a light in a nearby home or the turtle saw car lights or people actually walking on the beach.
On th eWest Coast here we will see turtles abandon their egg laying plans if they see lights go on. If they already started, they'll finish, but otherwise they will turn around and try the next night for a little privacy or go further down the beach.
Another possibility is that the turtle sensed that it arrived up the beach too late and wouldn't have time to lay its eggs, cover them and return to the water before the sun rose. They like to be back in the water before sunrise or they get too hot. Birds can also steal their eggs while they are laying them if they can catch them in the act.
