When do you think invest 92L will be issued for Caribbean?

#1 Postby Matt-hurricanewatcher » Mon Jun 13, 2005 7:34 am

A very interesting area has formed around 15.1/75.8 this morning. In a few models do show its track from northwestward over the next few days(GFS) To westward then moving into southeastern Florida(Nogaps). The area of shear to the north appears to have stopped its advancement south. In a upper level high is forming into the central Caribbean.

When will be a invest?

It is Mid-JUNE. It's too early to be spending all night tracking disorganized blobs.

From my years of experience with systems this early in the ball game, I can almost guarantee an invest classification within the next 12 hours if it continues to organize at its current pace. The 11:30 am TWO should reflect this continued organization.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see a recon being scheduled for tomorrow afternoon...

This system in the Caribbean is supposed to track NE across DR and end up in the Atlantic .

Maybe I'm crazy... but I was thinking the next invest would be labelled 91L. I know there was a 91L listed for a short time on NRL, but since NHC didn't run any models on 91L (as far as I know), that number would still be next up to bat.

I believe they are in the process of putting it up now. Under "Atlantic," they have 92L listed, but there is no map or satellite image.

That's actually the back-up site for NRL.

Here's the proper website for NRL: http://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/tc_pages/tc_home.html
