I'm at the beach just north of Sarasota (southend of Tampa Bay). We haven't gotten much this afternoon or evening. The surf is building, but it isn't much at this point. We've had winds up to 45 mph.
There were plenty of surfers out until dark and a few people like me walking the beach tonite. Looks like we'll have some beach erosion over the next 24 hours.
This latest feederband seems to have lost some of its original punch, but I believe we are now in a tornado watch.
No big deal here. Just your normal tropical blow and nothing like last year's big four. (thank goodness!)

Just another day in Paradise
Still raining here in Sarasota. Bit breezy but all in all just about what we've learned to expect from a system well to our west. Hoping things clear out by Sunday but until then, we will enjoy the rain as it build up our water supplies...

Morning in Sarasota
Rained all night (weather radio woke us up three times for a severe Tstorm warning, Special Marine Warning and then a Tornado Warning) but now it's just drizzling a bit, the skies are clearing, and the lake behind us is creeping into my back yard. Going back to sleep for a few...best wishes for a safe visit from Arlene for our friends to the North...

Here in Central most Central Florida, there is a slight continuous seabreeze, moist warm air(free sauna). I saw some blue sky a while ago and if the sun gets out we will get some thunderstorms this afternoon. I know that Arlene has not done her worst yet, but I have noticed that the less significant a storm is the more colorful it is on satellite and the more powerful it is the less colorful it looks on colorized satellite. This observation is from looking at that Tutt out in the East between 50 and 60 this morning. It looks so mean on Colorized satellite.
