It surely looks like a new center is trying to form.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Maybe my untrained eyes don't know what I'm looking at though. I see the original center very clearly and it seems to be rotating around a new center trying to form either under the convection or just to the SW of the convection.

You see what I see. If a center is forming under the convection then its a whole new game.

If the center is forming under the convection, wouldn't the forecast track have to shift east a bit?

La yes it would. In if it where to form under the convection then who knows what this baby can do. That was one of the few things holding it back.

Do you think it will be upgraded to 45 mph at 8 pm EDT?

Certainly looks like cloud tops are the coldest they've been since the beginning...
