Arlene: probably a TD
Arlene looks as bad as a TS could look this afternoon. I'm willing to bet recon will have a hard time finding TS force winds. Convection is still well removed from the exposed circulation center.....MGC

I agree. The center had become quite elongated NE-SW today. Even though the buoy southwest of the new convection area still reports NE winds, I think a new center will probably form closer to that convection. Won't change much except that landfall might have to be adjusted farther east a bit.

MGC I disagree. It has becomed a bit better organized late this afternoon as a new center is forming closer to convection or under it.

Surprise, surprise. Getting used to it... I can't remember the first week of June being so wet. Today's one of only 2 it hasn't rained(storm is still nearby so it could). We picked up an inch in about a half hour yesterday and we've had at least 6" since Memorial Day. Some places have had upwards of 10" nearby. Fortunately, it looks like the heaviest rain will be west of here(I'm on the AL/GA line).
