It has been almost an hour since I posted the first observation and no other one has been seen by me.They have to be almost at the center already or they turned around with some problem.

Yeah, this is strange. Usually the recco messages come out every half hour or so.

Maybe they feel it is not worth it any more? The system has not oreganized. In appears to be lossing its punch.

There are also orbiting LLC's down in the broad center of circulation. You can see at least 2 and maybe 3 if you zoon in close enough on a hi-res visible.

The thing is... we should be getting reports from them. Yesterday you could track them all the way from Biloxi into the system, today, you can't. They obviously are not in the system.

They are trying to get a fix, since they can't really get a good center location. They need to get a closed LLC but because of all these little mini-centers, they can't do it. They're probably waiting to get a firm reading before they plot their numbers. Who knows.

Yes... but they file reports on current winds, sky conditions, pressure even if there is no center(they were doing it over the Open Gulf yesterday).

#18 Postby TreasureIslandFLGal » Thu Jun 09, 2005 2:25 pm

maybe they are just having communication problems, but are still collecting data. I remember that happening once before when we were all waiting for data. anyone remember when that was? -maybe not on this site? :?:

I certainly don't think they would go out there then decide to scrub
unless they had some problems with the plane or equipment.

What I'm trying to say is this system is becoming Elongated. With many a LLC spining around the parent. It also looks like the convection we where hoping to see wrap is now falling apart.
