New Update

Gusts to 45 knots on deck, 12-14 ft seas. Very rough this morning. Our stop at Grand Cayman has been cancelled. Almost impossible to walk near the front area of the ship as the winds are so strong.

Scorpion, I am sorry your cruise isn't going as planned. But thank you for posting updates, it's neat having an on-the-scene reporter :)

My sister just returned from a cruise to belize and the caymans a few days ago. Guess she was right on time :) Sorry to hear about your vacation being ruined.

Scorpion, Live from the Storm.... Thanks for your reporting!

Sorry about your cruise. I went on one out of Miami once when a Nor'Easter created huge seas. Hardly anyone was at dinner because they were allseasick. My husband and I loved it and kept going to the bow of the ship to experience the winds and seas.

Stay safe!

Scorpion, I'm so sorry your cruise is being spoiled by Arlene. Will y'all be able to do an alternate port? Or is it just canceled? If so, enjoy everything they offer on board the ship. I love the cruise experience! Just getting shore excursions canceled is a bummer. Stay safe! And thanks for the "on the spot" reports. :)

It's quite cool having a "live" reporter that's not the normal media fruitcakes.

Ships anchor out in the harbor in The Caymans. Many times ships bypass The Caymans because of snotty weather.

I always cruise during the Hurricane season.

Scorpion, see if there's a place on the ship where you can rent The Poseidon Adventure. It's a story about a boat. I think you'd like it. :-)

Looks like winds have peaked, according to the Weather Log the winds are sustained at Force 8(gale), they were Force 10(Storm) about 10 minutes ago. I was outside in that, the rain stung so bad and it was so hard to stand up. You can hear the wind almost all over the ship, and its shaking like crazy.

10 55-63 48-55 Storm Very high waves with long over-
hanging crests. The resulting
foam, in great patches, is blown
in dense white streaks along the
direction of the wind. On the
whole the surface of the sea
takes on a white appearance.
The 'tumbling' of the sea becomes
heavy and shock-like. Visibility
affected.
