Remember Ivan

Most of the NHC models all had Ivan making landfall between AL and Fl state before he entered the GOM so don't knock them. They (models)went back and forth once he enter the GOM but ultimately the first projected track before he entered the GOM was correct. My point is I still think a MS/AL landfall is the likely area of landfall as was projected in the first advisory.

Models don't accurately predict landfalls--just suggested tracks.

I'm not knocking the models I'm just pointing out what happened Oct 99 In Florida and no hurricane watch.

The models are pretty tightly clusterd. There really is not an outlier, that is really unusual in my opinion.

good point, Boca

and I remember Bryan Norcross (the hero during Andrew) criticized the NHC afterwards for not posting a hurricane watch.
