This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

This is going to hit near the central Gulf. That might change but thats what the nhc says now. Backed up with many of the models.

According to the whole report, the Louisiana area and such have approximately 12-15% chance total, and Key West has 13% chance, no other part of S. Florida including Marco Island (which is probably the closest major island outside the Keys in S. Florida) and only has 8% chance, why is Key West so high?

Because it's farther southwest and has a better chance of being in the cone of the system.

It doesn't really matter... most of the moisture is to the east anyway. This is not Charley or Frances.

I would say there would at least be some rain on the Florida West Coast... how much depends on how far west the center is and how far east the rain shield goes. A little too early to tell.

Key West is not high...it's only at a 6.

The Gulf has the 13...a point in the GOM 28N/91W has the 13.

KEY WEST FL X X 3 3 6
GULF 28N 91W X X 2 11 13
