Wasn't previous convention to call it "NONAME"? This is the first time I've seen them refer to the depression by spelling out the number.

That's been like that since about 18Z. They've done this sometimes in the past before a storm is actually classified, and a couple of times in didn't amount to anything.

both say 01L. one is ONE, the other is NONAME

FNMOC uses ONE, NRL uses NONAME.

When the NRL calls it 9 times out of 10 its offical.
