2004 Hurricane Season DVD / Book Reference List

#1 Postby recmod » Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:24 pm

I know that everyone has gotten hyped over the start of the 2005 Hurricane Season. As many of the fellow Storm 2K members have stated, I too am looking forward to tracking the storms during this new season. However, I continue to be "stuck" in the past and have daily reminders of last year's nightmare Season.

Living in the Orlando area, I went through the eyewall of Charley and experienced hurricane-force winds from Frances and Jeanne. I have become fascinated with anything pertaining to the 2004 hurricane season and have accumulated quite a collection of books and dvd's...many of which are still available:

1.Satellite & Radar Imagery Movies~ Excellent 2- DVD presentation of all the IR/Visible satellite loops as well as the various radar loops covering all the hurricanes that affected the USA in 2004.
2.The Wrath Of Charley~ Excellent DVD presented by Southwest FL television stations NBC2 and ABC7
3.Restoring Power, Restoring Lives~ DVD and Book set presented by Florida Power And Light: shows the recovery effort from the viewpoint of the power companies
4.Hurricane Charley: As It Happened~ Well-known hurricane chaser Richard Horodner's DVD footage of Hurricane Charley

10.Hurricane Ivan: A View From Earth And Space~Excellent DVD presented by the Coastal Weather Research Center
11.Hurricane Ivan: The Cayman Experience~ DVD covering Hurricane Ivan's effect on the Cayman Islands

14.Hurricane Frances Highlights~ This DVD covers storm-chaser Scott McPartland's Hurricane Frances experience on Florida's east coast
15.Ivan At Navarre Beach~ This DVD, presented by Century 21 Realty, has a short video presentation of the afftermath of Ivan in Navarre. There are also extensive still photos of damage to structures directly on the beach in before-and-after format
16.Face To Face With Ivan~ 2 hour DVD of Ivan's impact on Alabama...presented by tv station ABC 33/40
17.Hurricane Ivan: A Stormchaser's Report~ An excellent stormchaser DVD with extensive footage taken during and after the hurricane
18.Hurricanes: The Fury Of 2004~ RGC Video Productions DVD follows the FLorida One Disaster Medical Assistance Team as they respond to the 4 hurricanes that struck in 2004
19.Tracking The Hurricanes: 2004~ This is Mark Sudduth's (of hurricanetrack.com fame) excellent DVD coverage of all the landfalling hurricanes of 2004
20.Eyewitness To History: Hurricane Season 2004~ 2 DVD set presented by Orlando TV station WFTV9.
21.Ivan's Wake~ DVD and Book set presented by the Pensacola News Journal on the aftermath of Ivan
22.Mean Season: Florida's Hurricanes Of 2004~ This hardcover book, published by the Palm Beach Post, covers the four storms that struck Florida

Just to let everyone know: I do not endorse or profit from any of the DVD or book sales presented in the above links. I just thought it would be nice to put together a list of available titles with the associated links to assist anyone interested in obtaining a copy for their own personal use. It took me months of searching to find all these videos.
