As I suspected, the Dutch military, Aruba police and FBI are not only combing the island, but taking a look at nearby islands and even the South American mainland for this young lady's whereabouts.

I talked with one of my coworkes today about this. He just recently returned from vacation on Aruba. He is of the opinion that either she was murdered and her body dumped at sea or she was sold into slavery......MGC

I hope and pray it's not the third possibility, MGC. But it's what we all fear, along with the other two. Let's just hope they find her if that's the case, ASAP. Every parent's worst nightmare.

A judge ruled in Aruba that the two suspects may be held on "sufficent grounds" in the Holloway girl's disappearance. :larrow:

It appears Natalee Holloway is not the only American girl missing.

In March of 1998, Amy Bradley went missing at Aruba, when she apparently left her ship with one of the crew; she was later seen on the nearby island of Curacao, twice...the last time in a brothel in 1999, when she identified herself to a Naval rating and asked for help...upon which time, two men took the girl and dragged her away up the stairs. The former sailor didn't make the connection until much later, when he read of her family's plight in searching for her.

Curacao is also part of the Netherland Antilles chain of islands, and there is much sea traffic between these isles and the mainland. :grrr:

Bill - OMG, I had chills reading that. Let's hope she can get to someone, if this is the case. Having two daughters, you can imagine how close to home this story hits. And one is leaving on a school trip, as I've posted about. Small group though - 19 students, about 6 or 7 adults to chaperone. I like those numbers.

Yep... the Amy Bradley case has been on Unsolved Mysteries and America's Most Wanted several times before.

What's more, the ship's crewman, a waiter, wanted to take Amy to the same bar that Natalee was last seen in.

BTW, I've known for some time that Dutch citizens (some using "diplomatic immunity" when so engaged) have been very active in the white-slavery trade; prostitution is legal in the Netherlands and its colonies, and "locals" in those islands don't attract the interest (and $$$) which would be given to girls such as Amy and Natalee.

This could go far to motive...unemployed men getting a "deal" on delivering young, very attractive girls on vacation to local pimps. :larrow:

Bumping this one up...I believe this should be a subject worth deliberation by the denizens herein. :larrow:

Not yet; there is a $500K reward for any information.

It should be noted that Amy told the sailor "My name is Amy Bradley, and I need help"; when he offered to take her to his ship, she hurriedly said "No, you don't understand...I need help"...after which two men saw her talking to the Naval rating, came up and abruptly removed her upstairs in the "establishment".

Thinking about the unthinkable is one of my traits (ex-STL MPD); my "gut" says she met with foul play after she tried to make outside contact. Sending a girl over to the mainland and disposing of her body in the overgrowth would be an easy way to avoid any such possibility.

Hannity is reporting that authorities are now searching along an Aruban beach.

Yep... it's been on cable for over a half hour now. Women's clothing reportedly found. :(

Well, if Hannity wasn't endlessly rambling about the MJ case, I might have more clues about what's going on. *shaking head*

A local young man told a FoxNews reporter that he found a pair of panties, condoms and duct tape in the low-lying underbrush near the Marriott Hotel this morning, and Aruba police arrived on site before he could call them. He then handed over these items and told police where he found them.

This was the site where one of the three suspects said (in jail to one of the freed security guards) that he and his brother dropped Natalee and the "Dutch kid" off before going home. More, when he arrived home an hour later, there was a new message from van der Sloot asking him to E-mail him. :larrow:

IMHO, the authorities REALLY need to "sit on" these three until they tell all. :larrow:

It gets worse...the pink panties were accompanied by a string (the type one might find from a halter-top), and the duct tape was wrapped around the trunk of a nearby low tree. Hmmmmmmmm... :grrr:

Searchers are now spending time draining a small pond within the growth area.

JMHO, but Natalee's "drunken" stupor could have been a result of one of several "date-rape" drugs...and again, those three kids need to be aggressively "leaned on"...HARD. :larrow:

Sean Hannity just mentioned on his radio show that Fox News is reporting a barrel being found off the beach in Aruba.

Anyone hearing anything else?

Of course, with Emily out there blowing stuff around, no telling where it could have come from.

Yes...the barrel is about half-submerged off the beach where "van der Snott" said he left her. Her family and others are out on a boat with ropes and gear, trying to retrieve it as I write this.

Natalee's mother was tipped by a local last nigth about this barrel; seems that the area is frequently used for swimming/snorkeling, and no one recalls this barrel having been there up until a few weeks ago.

Hmmm.... :larrow:
