Well, the TWO is mentioning its first area of disturbed weather today, but strictly asserts that there is nothing to really expect development from. Interesting to actually have updates on stuff again. From the TWO:

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM FLORIDA AND THE EASTERN
GULF OF MEXICO SOUTHWARD ACROSS WESTERN CUBA TO THE NORTHWESTERN
CARIBBEAN SEA ARE ASSOCIATED WITH AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH. THERE ARE
NO SIGNS OF ORGANIZATION AND UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE CURRENTLY NOT
FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT. HOWEVER...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS MAY OCCUR
OVER THIS AREA FOR THE NEXT DAY OR SO.

You always have to pay attention when they say "currently not favorable."

Hey Trader, how're you doing these days?

Sometimes it seems like posters are divided into 3 categories: Those who hype every little blob; those who discount every blob and the vast majority, who are somewhere in between.

You don't think anyone is actually going to set you up for that one, do you? :D

Lordy! I hope not, Agua. As an aside, there are some pretty strong squalls in the messes in the tropics this afternoon:

STORM2K is a place where everyone is Welcome. We are made up of Experts, amateurs and just plain ole Weather enthusiasts. Thats what makes Storm2k what it is. That being said, there are going to be those members that think every little blob is going to develop and then there are going to be those members that say nothing is going to develop. Instead of posting sarcasm and borderline rude comments...explain why you think the area won't develop or for that matter why you think it will and state the reasons why. Many people are here to "learn" and if we make the board a comfortable learning environment, where people aren't afraid to ask questions, we will all be the better for it. There are a lot of knowledgeable individuals here and a lot of knowledge hungry weather enthusiasts as well. If we work together we will all benefit this season.

The learning process never stops and the only stupid question is one thats never asked. We all started somewhere and I don't don't care who you are the process of learning is a non stop process. That being said Enjoy the Season, Enjoy S2K and Stay safe. Thanks for help Making S2K..."The Legal Addiction"

Johnathan

So true, but lets not go berserk over every blob.I mean this one actually looks pretty good but when every innocuous blob gets a thread it becomes overkill.

Lets be pacient & smart this year & not jump to conclusions. There are people posting here that have been here since the beginning & should have seen enough blobs by now to know which ones mean business & which ones are just...blobs.

I could not disagree more, and I don't see why you are thrashing boca_chris for using the "surprised" (not afraid) icon in a thread labelling the weather "ominous" when it's heading toward him.

How about trying to be a liitle more understanding? This is not the "tropical analysis" forum, and I don't think a little emoticon is going to cause a stampede. Lighten up and try to smile a little bit :D

...and one more thing. Why is #2 necessarily a bad thing? If he's here, he's working on it. `Nuff said.

I got your back dhweather..I agree with you!

We must be smart so that we don't come off sounding like alarmists.I mean we do want to be taken seroiusly & we do want some credibillity don't we.Well running for the hills with your tail between your legs over every blob is not going to get you that.

Well you should be able to decide what is accurate if you have been around a while?? All I am is saying is be patient with less experienced posters and help them if you can.
