#1 Postby hcane » Thu May 26, 2005 4:00 pm

Inspired by HurricaneBill the page on Hurricane Alley was finally completed. We have located what appears to be all of the retired tropical cyclone names worldwide....still working on the southwest Indian Ocean.....

List is not quite complete. The name Bess was retired in WPAC after the 1974 season in memory of the recon crew lost while flying in the storm over the South China Sea. I personally weather briefed the crew that was lost on the mission prior to the one they were lost on. I was then a forecaster at Clark AB, RP.

I've googled over and over for it but can't find much.

I'm not sure if SWIO retires names.

SWIO doesn't have a rotating list, so retiring a name is kind of pointless..

That's true. However, it'd be interesting to see what ones would probably retired.

I'll try and make a list.
