91 was offical high at FLL, MIA and PBI so your car might be a few degrees off but it was hot here thats for sure but it is supposed to be in South Florida. Crank up the AC and have a cold beer.

Based on the NWS:

HOT:

Miami - 92 F
Fort Lauderdale - 93 F
West Palm Beach - 91 F
Homestead - 90 F
Boca Raton - 93 F

COOL:

Naples - 84 F
Fort Myers - 87 F
Key West - 85 F

As it has been mentioned several times before, the wind is playing a key factor for the temperatures to sore in the afternoons.

Boca, like people have said...it's the wind that is causing this heat. Now it wasn't 97 but I know that East Boca/Deerfield got to 93 today. Once the winds come back around to the E at our typical summertime speeds of 10-15, it will stay in the 80s (mid to upper 80s coast to around 90, maybe lower 90s far inland). When that will happen I don't know. The pattern is quite a bit different than last year in May...which could be a good thing :D

It was just nasty hot and humid today in Lakeland. Thank goodness for the afternoon clouds and wind.

If I'm going to bem the hot, I'd rather do it in the Bahamas so I'm headed to the Abacos tomorrow. NO tropical events for the next week, please!

Take a look at the NE - sheesh. My son is freezing with a nor'easter in Boston.

Ok- how's this for you- we are in the grips of an upper level low and eastern trough- our high was "only" 77 degrees and it is about 59 out there right now! Very cool for this time of year. The NWS disco says we might be 15 degrees BELOW normal tomorrow. Wow! What a difference LATITUDE can make. I wish we had some of that heat here in the Carolinas....water temps are still very cool.

Exactly. It gets hot in Florida, whether or not there are 'canes. 93 in Daytona/Ormond today, and lots of T-storms.

This looks very similar to our November last year which is kinda like your May i.e the month before its officially summer.

we had a string of 100+ F during the latter part of the month.

and one of those days was around 102 F or 104 F from memory.

which was very odd in my experience for November

I am getting 92 for max high at fll. Here is the link I am using:

http://kamala.cod.edu/fl/latest.cdus42.FLL.KMFL.html

of course i posted that mia, fll and pbi had max highs of 91 which was wrong so from now on I will be waiting until the followingf day to be making such aggressive statements about highs. I believe coldfront is our resident stats expert so maybe coldfront can clear this all up. always striving to be as accurate as possible as their is more than enough misinformation in the south florida media. just wiat until we have a cane closing in and i start supplying quotes from the local media, you won;t believe the misinformation spread.
