Doubt Adrian hold together....

#1 Postby MGC » Thu May 19, 2005 10:37 am

The mountains in Central America are going to disrupt Adrian's circulation to the point where I believe it will be a very weak system when it emerges into the Carb Sea. Adrian looks to be a rather small system which also lessens the odds of making it across. Adrian looks to be making a push for hurricane status this morning. Adrian looks to have taken a more northerly track and this might increase the risk to S Fla......MGC

I think the further North it goes, the quicker it gets caught up in
the westerlies, and accelerates East. I still think Florida is all
clear for the remnants.

mgc - wasn't charlie small though as well? does that necessarily mean that it can't make it across? is it because of the intensity?

If it was small but powerful with a favorable enviroment downstream & moving fast enough it could survive & emerge in tact & could restrengthen.

In Adrian's case it is relatively small, not all that powerful & upper level conditions will not be favorable down stream so Adrian's days are pretty much numbered once it hits land.

NHC issued last advisory this morning. Seems the mountains did their work. Odds are low that regeneration occurs....MGC

And that is one LARGE contingent. Every storm has a chance to hit South Florida.
