A question for ya folks.

Since the Boxing day earthquake that jolted the earth so to spin slightly faster does that portend to rare climactic changes? TS Adrian according to the NOAA is headed East North East, I believe, which is rare for any system to do, since it is reversing course. Does anyone think the earthquake plays a role or is this something cyclic? Also, because TS Adrian spawned either before or after May 15, and is considered a rare event does that porten rara and unusual weather events in the future. (meaning are we going to see weired things happening from here on out)?

About the big quake of 9.0 having an effect on the climate my take is that it has no effect on the weather around the world. Also May 15 is the date of the first day of the Eastern Pacific season and as in another thread (At link below) is shown it is not unprecedented to see this kind of track.

I agree with Luis on this - an earthquake will have little, if any,
change on the global weather.

I don't recall there being an earthquake during and/or after Hurricane Lenny moved eastward (the "wrong way") across the Caribbean in November 1999.

Actually, I just found out today that Central America has never seen three hurricanes in a single year, and two hurricanes in the same year has only occurred three times!

For Central America, that area - believe it or not - averages ONE hurricane every FIVE years. These people just don't have that much experience with hurricanes, we are talking about around eight countries here. But I bet they are scared as hell after the "M' word hit them a few years ago.

As I would be if I lived in the same area. I can't imagine the consequences of living in a hilly terrain where it rains 20-30 inches a day for days on end. It must have seemed like the end of time.
