What I heard on Fox News

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Skeetobite, I hope you use curved connections again instead of lines for a curved path nearing or crossing the coastline like you did last year for Jeanne. Those maps for Jeanne were far superior imo as it approached FL.

SkeetoBite, How soon will your new updated site be ready?. Enjoyed last year and really looking foreward to this year with your maps. Keep up the great work!

The curved paths are important, however we are developing and automated system to render the maps. If I notice that a curved path is warranted, that particular map will also be rendered manually. The curved paths take an enourmous amount of processing time (due to higher math functions I couldn't begin to explain) to generate automatically and we have discovered that this is likely the sole reason the NHC is unwilling to adopt this format.

The new site will be available soon, and at a new address.
We are working backwards to recreate the "Actual" map paths for last years storms. These updates will be available on the new site. As we get closer to launch I will begin posting some of our new images here at Storm2K.
