although i havent researched this recently, i dont believe any tropical systems have formed in the GOM/BOC in may since the beginning of the reanalysis period, 1851 to present....of course, nothing lies like climatology ......rich
Too much shear, however the SSTs are plenty warm enough. They are running in the low 80s down there. If the shear would let up I would say we could see something. What's the shear forecast look like for this area over the next 24 hours?
See CYC's thread about the Models "developing" something.. The low off to the east of Florida under all this convection will cross florida and then some of the models see "something" More then likely nothing though...
