Hurricane David

One other note of trivia. I think David is the only name that was used once. I kinda feel cheated.

Not 100% certain, but I think "Camille" might have been used only one time as well.

Andrew '92, Katrina '05, Gustav '08, Isaac '12, Ida '21...and countless other lesser landfalling storms whose names have been eclipsed by "The Big Ones".

Many names have only been used once. Some of the most recent include Mitch, Michelle, and Lenny. Then there are some classics, such as Alicia, Frederic, Allen, and Gilbert.

Hurricane Mitch deserves to be included with "the classics" as well. Though it didn't affect the U.S. mainland at its peak, it was one very powerful, extemely destructive (especially the flooding) system that for a time, was on the verge of making it to Gilbert-like intensity.

Yes, I agree. It was a fearsome storm and was one of the strongest on record in the Atlantic basin if I remember correctly.

I agree too that Mitch is a classic; I just put it in the most recent category since I wanted at least three and those are the three most recent I could think of.

Also Hugo, Opal, and Donna (three other classics) were only used once I believe.
