Wow! NHC upgrades their site

Is the forecast discussion different from the tropical weather discussion? If not, the link for that discussion is on the upper right side of the page. Sorry I don't know enough so I thought I would ask.

Above is the Forecast Discussion for Tropical Cyclones different from the tropical Discussion that is issued four times every day.

No, it's much more likely that they just didn't think an explanation was necessary, or they haven't gotten to it yet. In this day and age, any product of the NWS is distributed to everyone or it's not distributed at all.

I know that this might upset a few individuals, but it looks like the Tropical Cyclone Discussion product is going to be back. I don't buy the whole "people are going to get confused" crap. There's always going to be some IDIOT somewhere who will get confused by anything you do.

Maybe we should do away with all public forecasts because people might get confused by all those crazy lines and such. Heck, I cannot even remember what the difference is between hurricanes and tornadoes. Aren't you supposed to go hide in the basement when hurricanes come to avoid the waves and all? I need someone from the government to personally tell me what I am supposed to do, you know, actually come to my house because I don't have a radio, TV, or common sense. I listen to the Mid-west Hurkain Centor for everything I need.

Away with the Wizard of Oz crap. We don't need to hide TPC products behind smoke and curtains in order to save lives. I think the way we've been doing it here in the U.S. the last few decades has worked rather well, as there have not been any huge losses of lives (hundreds) on our soil since what, 1957? and the ones down in the Caribbean certainly weren't because people were surfing the net reading secret hurricane information that only the weather priests should be privy to. If you're going to get rid of those PROFESSIONAL discussions from the official source, let's scrap this website as well. Storm2K could be contributing to deaths! I feel kinda hot about this issue, and I think it generated some discussion last year.

Oh, it's a while to the season, and it's not like the NHC website was the only place NHC discussions were located at, and I think it's a bit of a conclusion to jump to that discussions are now private.

Though I do recognize making the discussions private would fulfill a long-held fantasy for you.
