Government inspectors entrusted to enter disaster victims' homes and verify damage claims include criminals with records for embezzlement, drug dealing and robbery, a South Florida Sun-Sentinel investigation has found.

i agree it is awful but having read the story today in my sun sentinel s everal of them had records for dwi only which i don't think should have affected the job they did. the others are a different story. there were 3 that were father and 2 sons - one of the sons had past convictions for check forgery. so that does not sound good at all.

guess they never did any background checks on the inspectors they hired. what a waste and now they want the innocent victims that recieved money that was desperately needed to return it due to FEMA's own failures. seems very wrong to me.

That is the important thing they didn't have the background checks.
