New Buoys To Help Gather Information On Hurricanes

New technology is being put into the Gulf, that may help keep a closer watch on storms...
A Coast Guard Cutter is setting sail this morning.... its crew will help put two new buoys off the Eastern coast of Mexico.

The new buoys, almost 40 feet in diameter and loaded with atmospheric and oceanographic sensors, will gather and record information about the strength and progress of hurricanes in the Gulf.

In related news, the president of Accuweather announced that his company has sponsored legislation to rename the buoys Accu1 and Accu2, and that and data from these government buoys are now their property.

Actually...just kidding about that. Thanks for passing this note along. 40ft is pretty big.

Looks like the Eastern Gulf is now safe from hurricanes.
