Move somewhere else, preferably far away. You live too close to me and your karma bothers me. I used to think like you, but then I grew up, and now I just wish people like you would go away.

AMEN. Let the people I disagree with all live in Monroe County, the most likely area to get hit, and refuse evacuation. I've had my fill of -removed- since an 85 foot tree hit my roof, and rolled off, narrowly missing my house. My neighbor wasn't so lucky--over $80,000 in damage. So you can have your adrenaline rush, Scorp.

I admit it. I am guilty of it. It just an adrenaline rush. But, I feel very bad for it. Because I don't want anyone to lose their home or to get hurt. I know this area can't even handle a tropical storm. And I was sad to see Alabama and Florida's beautiful beaches and properties destroyed.

Let me say I went through Camille as a nine year old -removed- all night long with my little brother saying our house would not be standing in the moring. My mother would get so upset with us only 1/2 mile from the beach. We stayed out at Dolan Hall at KAFB that nite with CD doors shaking like leaves while listening to wheather reports on the miltary radio windgust from 220>240 mph.I live in the same house now as then.Ivan made it breathe at 60 mph. That bothered me,now I read listen and educated.

A friend of mine's old roommates at FIU rode out Andrew. They described to him scenes of grown men literally crying as they were trying to hold the storm back from their apartments, expecting to die the whole time. And they weren't even in the worst of it.

So... you sure you want to ride out a Cat 5? If you're really hellbent on doing it, then you should probably try to hook up with experienced storm chasers, people who know the behavior of storms and where to hide when it gets bad. I wouldn't normally advise that, except that it sounds like you're going to do it anyway at some point, and you'd have a better chance of surviving if you're with an experienced group. Do not try to ride it out in your home just for the "passion" of it. They'll find your cold, dead body under a concrete slab.

I did want to see what a minor hurricane was like. I have now been through three of them that were (around here) cat 1 or cat 2 in the 20 years that I've lived in S. Florida.

That's more than sufficient. I would never want anything above a 3, nor do I wish anyone else to get stuck with it.

So I wishcast, but I wishcast the baddies back out to sea. Fishes are good! ;)

Whether you want it or not if its going to happen it will -removed- or not!

You may not get a storm this season & for the next 10 seasons or a CAT 5 might send your roof flying & your car rollin about your neighborhood in just a matter of months now!

It boils down to this,if you are scared of hurricanes & wish never to experience that horror ever again but you live along the gulf coast,Fla or the Carolinas then you need to know that you are living in the wrong place. All those places WILL be hit again in our lifetime by hurricanes of all CATs & sizes. As Dr.Grey has mentioned we're going to see devastation in the coming years/decades unlike we've ever seen.

I like storms, but there comes a point when I start to hope they go away. When it gets to the point where NHC forecasts have them hitting at over 140 mph....thats when I start praying the relief.

That sums it up for me. I love storms to a point.
