The rainfall at Covington is now up to 0.81 and still coming down!

The passes are now an utter mess. Steven's is up to 34 inches on the ground. They gave up too soon!

Rain has decreased, wind has increased.

The baroclinic band has shifted south, but it will be brief as another ripple develops along the band. Areas south of Tacoma should be in the rain for the next 12 hours, while areas north...say from Seattle to Everett...will return to the rain in a few hours.

The band finally shifts south tomorrow morning as an upper level trough moves in from the west.

As most know, the transition to rain never occured at the mountain passes today...thus some places have received almost 2 feet. The lower elevations of Snoqualmie...say below 2500 feet...have finally transitioned, but the NWS has extended the snow advisory so I'm assuming the snow level won't rise anymore.

Next week continues to look active and stormy as the jet stream points at the PNW. Abundant mountain snow and below average temperatures...I bet Snow_Wizzard and Brennan are in heaven!!

Goodbye sunshine!!

We are up to 1.70 inches for the day and 4.20 inches in the last 10 days.

Still raining hard and probably will for quite some time on this side of town.

Just under 2 inches of rain for the day... currently at 1.96 inches to be precise.

That is 40% of my predicted 5 inches for the week in about 10 hours!!

Catching up on this afternoons posts....would say that Anthony and Tim beat by a long shot! Ahhh....but wait....reading Randys posts, looks like I`ve beaten him. I have received .95" since the pre-dawn hours of this morning. Hope we get more rain tonight! But looking at radar, the BIG rain appears to be ever so slowly heading eastward. Out high today was 50 with a low of 42. -- Andy

Hey....anyone having trouble getting to Seattle NWS site this evening? Maybe it`s just on my end, but it`s very slow to load up. All other weather sites on mine work fine! -- Andy

.13" of rainfall is all we managed here in my area! Had a heavy shower that lasted about 20 Min at around 4:00PM, that is where most of the rainfall happened today. Took the dogs for a walk in the park, it was pleasent with a south breeze today. People camping had bon fires, and were having a great time!

Currently Partly Cloudy and 45.4 degrees.

Looking at latest satelitte pics, a ripple has formed on the baroclinic band. Looks like all of Western Washington will once again be wet tonight. As for the official rainfall amount up here in Mukilteo, I would say about 1.2 inches. Pretty decent amount of rain for the end of March.

As for the extended, latest models still show a very active period with plenty of moisture and relatively low snow levels. Hopefully Snoqualmie and Stevens pass can open for a few weeks by the end of this upcoming week.

Alright, off to play poker with some of my buddies.

Viewing tonights latest 12z and 18z GFS....Monday - Friday of next week will be remain cool with temps in the upper 40`s to lower 50`s per MOS. Our weather will also remain very wet and showery as upper level troughs, somewhat weak in nature, slide through our area in a nearly West to East zonal flow, but still potent enough to where we may see some breezy winds at times. Saturday also looking pretty wet as we could see near 2.00" or more...over a 36hr time period. In the extened...the weekend after next.... Jet stream appears to try to lift up northward a bit which should give us at least somewhat of a warming trend and less in the way of rain.

Neat pics there, Randy! Sure sounds like the rain shadow was the major player in your weather, with Mr. rain at the batting mound waiting to get his turn to hit your area.:):D -- Andy

Holy crap... it stopped raining!! It rained every single minute of the daylight hours here. Not one break all day.

A total of 2.12 is not bad for one day.
