Hey snow wizzard...don`t know what your weather is like right now, but justa few minutes ago we have a short live ice pellet shower! Hail VERY small. Our temp was 40 right before it started, but is now at 36.5 degrees and appears to be slowly droping. -- Andy | Will post a pic or two here in a bit.

The real story will be the storm at the end of the week.

This week will be quite uneventful unless that upper low is perfectly placed on Wednesday or Thursday. Maybe a convergence zone... maybe some hail or wet snow??

Yes... there will be some cool nights. But it warms up FAST once that sun comes up this time of year. And the sun is up EARLY right now. We need to "spring forward" soon!!

Ok folks...here the few pics of the very small hail that I took just a little bit ago just right outside our back deck. -- Andy http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ajc192004 ... .dir=/599c

Cool stuff Andy! I have been getting some light showers with a temp of 39. 39 with a well mixed airmass, and a SW flow aloft is a very cold airmass indeed! I would not be surprised if somebody in the lowlands comes up with a little bit of wet snow tonight.

TT...I am shocked...the "S" word sneaking in for Wednesday night or so?

The passes must be getting slammed. All of them are below freezing with traction tires advised. It may be a winter wonderland up there tomorrow. The airmass is so cold that they should stay below freezing all day!

Now we're talking!

Latest NWS discussion saying GFS is trying to back off on the big pineapple express a little bit. Hope this isn't a trend!

Currently at 5:20AM its 37.1 degrees and still breezy.

Not a trend.

The 06Z run of the GFS is amazingly wet for next weekend (and beyond). Also... the system looks to be progressive and that means after snow levels rise they will quickly fall again. Should be some very heavy rain in the lowlands next weekend with an awesome tropical connection.

Here is the predicted precipitation from Friday night (3/25) through Monday morning (3/28)...

Looking at latest GFS....tomorrow through at least the Thu/Fri time frame should remain dry with partly cloudy skies and cool temps. Come this weekend, looks like a very wet and breezy system heads our way, but also some what milder temps. Longer range shows some what a zonal flow with LOTS of rain and breezy winds at times. -- Andy

Dude, it's down right COLD outside...only 45F. I was stupid to wear shorts and a t-shirt. I guess I got used to the dry/mild weather of Winter. lol.

Looking at the latest pass cams, not impressed with the snow. Snoqualmie pass is still looking bare...they have an 8 inch base. Stevens looks a little better, but I was hoping they were gonna get more from this latest storm.

This week looks calm. Mostly cloudy with cool temperatures. This weekend could be VERY interesting as a pineapple express tries to set up. Bad for the mountains, but it's too late anyways.

Sounds like a dull cool week. Yuck!!!! Either give me a some wild rain, wind, cold, or give me sunny and WARM. This weather we are going to have this week will be quite boring!!! :grr:

I think next weekend could actually benefit the mountains in the second half of the storm. It does look like snow levels will rise quite a bit but sort of like last weekend (Yesturday)... Once the front passes it gets colder and snow levels drop, giving the mountains their snow.

R-Dub...We could have some record lows this week. Never boring in my book! :D

Wet periods, with quiet cool interludes is just what I was hoping for. This is very good for the big picture.

By the way...I think the snow on Steven's looks awfully nice.

Maybe we will have a locally strong outflow wind on Wednesday for Fraser Valley. The dewpoint for that day should be low because this type of wind usually make air drier. The weather for this day will be cool.

Good evening all!:) We had some light showers real early this morning, but from about late morning onward, skies have been partly cloudy. Also bit of a cool day with the light wind at times during the day. My high today was 53 with a low of 34. I recieved .16" of precip in my rain gage. So far this month I have gotten .60". -- Andy

Invisible...I have been thinking the same. The models have shown some pretty decent outflow wind for your area over the next two or three days.

I once again, find myself thinking...this is a type of pattern we have not seen this time of year for ages. A cold upper level low trapped over us for a few days, with limited moisture, some offshore component to the winds, low 850mb temps, and low thicknesses. This is simply not anything near a typical spring pattern for us. The numbers add up splendidly for unseasonably cold nights. The million dollar question is, will the nights be clear enough for record lows.

Tonight is sure looking nippy! Already at 47 here before sunset, a dew point of 34, and clear skies. The dew points should go quite a bit lower tomorrow. Even with dew points in the mid 30s, outlying areas will easily drop below freezing tonight.

The problem with the last system was lack of moisture.

That will NOT be a problem with the next system scheduled to arrive on Saturday. The split flow will be completely dead (finally) as a consolidated jet barrels into Washington with a connection to the tropics.

The awesome aspect for mountain snowpack is that the storm will be progressive and that means snow levels should come down significantly on Sunday night.

This one will put last weekend's storm to shame!!

The wild pattern continues after that as well.

Also... record lows are kind of boring outside of the December-February timeframe. It will be an uneventful week. Cool in the morning and pleasant in the afternoon. Still watching the chance for convection on Wednesday or Thursday.

But all eyes are on this coming weekend.

This weather pattern is quite typical of March actually. Cut-off lows favor spring and autumn.

You guys are still thinking like its January and outflow really matters. It the end of March!!

Who really cares if it gets down to 32 degrees at night. It will be in the 50's during the day with any sunshine at all.

This is just slightly below normal. Nothing dramatic.
