Sure was nice to have a good old fashioned wind storm!!
Here are a few pics, check out the links. Tried taking pics of the downed trees at work, but it was just too dark.
This is my barometer last night, notice that little piece of tape down past the stormy section. I placed that there back in 12-12-95 when we had that BIG windstorm. I had a reading just a tad lower then that last night, so I knew we would get some sort of a wind event

These didn't turn out very well being kind of dark, but this is what the roads look like right now, a real obsticle course......

A windstorm and rain... just as I predicted one week ago!!
Do you guys believe in the pattern change yet??
Interesting note... instead of high pressure this coming week BOTH the GFS and the ETA (NAM) show a cold system dropping down again around Wednesday.
Then a return to VERY wet.
Endless high pressure is LONG gone!!

TT after that windstorm last night, I have no choice but to be a believer now
So is Schneider from NWS Seattle being sarcastic, or does he not believe the GFS, and thinks its going to be dry next weekend??????

Hey Randy...good pics! Acording to my anemometer...I had a wind gust from the East at 17.9mph. BUT....I know we had MUCH higher winds than that. And like I said earlier....our winds had to be in the 35 to 40mph...at least! Current temp at 8:45am is 47 with light rain and baro 29.15 and steady. -- Andy

Thanks Andy, they were not the best, but the best I could get in the very low light of early this morning
This is from the closest school net station to me working right now from Camino Island. This station is about 10 Miles from me. They recorded a max gust of 46MPH, that seems about right. Oh it was nice to hear that roar through the trees this morning

We didn`t lose any power! We have under ground lines, though there is a sub-station not all that far from here, but don`t exactly remember the general area of where it`s at.
Here`s the closest reporting weather station to me. http://www.weatherunderground.com/weath ... =KWAWOODI6
As you can see, their peak winds were at 25mph.

WILD NIGHT!!! I was woken up around 4am by strong winds!! We lost power for about an hour, but it quickly came back. I would say we had gusts well over 50mph. The house was creaking, the trees were cracking and the roof felt like it was gonna blow off!! Pretty amazing stuff!! We lost a tree in our backyard and there's branches everywhere!! Nice way to end the winter season!!

Well, it looks like we missed out, again. We do have breezy conditions, but our max gust so far has been 30mph and the wind right now is only averaging 10-15mph. The power never went out here.
Anyways, we currently have a temperature of 50 F and winds at the above mentioned rates.
Anything look interesting for later today and/or tonight and tommorow? I sure hope so.

Anthony......The forecast this morning on KOMO 1000 AM (the only weather I could get this morning with the power out) Said the winds would die down this morning, then pick up sharply this afternoon once again. NWS doesn't mention this though. Waiting for updated NWS discussion.......

AnthonyC wrote:Anyone see that area of low pressure off the Washington coast? Is that an upper level low or surface low? If it's a surface low, could we get another windstorm? The track looks to take it into northern Washington. Just something to watch.

I sure hope it's a surface low, we need SOMETHING out here!
