Did not see a meteorite.
Also... it looks less likely that we will have really cold air in this upcoming pattern change. Despite Snow_Wizzard's excitement.
You can also see the latest pattern discussion from Don Sutherland that further supports this idea.
It is looking VERY wet and very cool though.
Just what we need.
The lowlands could see 1-2 inches of rain and the mountains could have 2 or 3 feet of snow next weekend!!
One week from right now looks VERY nasty. No lowland snow... but very windy and rainy.

Today was awesome! Even with the white caps out on the lake from the north wind, I still went out jetskiing, then spent the rest of the day out in my shorts working on the new water line for the house. I even got a little red
Sun burn in March
Currently 43.2 degrees and falling quickly though!!

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SEATTLE WA 330 PM PST SAT MAR 12 2005
DISCUSSION...EXTREMELY DRY AIR ALOFT AND MECHANICAL MIXING FINALLY GOT THE BEST OF THE MORNING STRATO-CU DECK...SO NOW WE ARE LEFT WITH WALL-TO-WALL SUNSHINE. AS A STRONG SURFACE HIGH CONTINUES TO BUILD INLAND OVER B.C...LOW-LEVEL FLOW WILL VEER MORE FROM NORTHERLY TO NORTHEASTERLY AND KEEP THE FLOW OF DRY CONTINENTAL AIR POURING IN. THIS WILL MEAN SUNNY MILD DAYS AND CLEAR CRISP NIGHTS THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT. BY TUESDAY...WE WILL BE LOOKING NORTHWARD AT A SHORTWAVE DIVING SOUTH ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE ERN PAC UPPER RIDGE. SEEMS THERE HAS BEEN A GRADUAL TREND IN THE MODELS TO DROP THE HEART OF THIS SHORTWAVE DOWN EAST OF THE CASCADES. FOR NOW...WILL MAINTAIN A CHANCE OF RAIN STARTING AS EARLY AS TUE NIGHT...BUT THE FURTHER EASTWARD TRACK OF THE SHORTWAVE WILL FURTHER ENSURE THAT ANY PRECIP WILL BE QUITE LIGHT. THE GFS HAS BEEN POINTING TOWRAD A DRY DAY ON THU BEFORE SPINNING UP A LOW CENTER OFF THE COAST ON FRI. THE GFS IS OFTEN SLOW AND WEAK AT SPINNING UP LOW CENTERS OFF THE COAST IN NORTHERLY FLOW ALOFT...SO WILL LEAVE LOW-END RAIN CHANCES IN FOR THURSDAY WITH SOMEWHAT HIGHER CHANCES FOR FRI AND SAT. &&

Anyone feel that 3.3 magnitude earthquake centered in Olympia?! Believe it or not, I felt it. I was laying upstairs on the floor when all the sudden things started to creak and then the ground quickly vibrated. I thought to myself, "Another small earthquake." I can't believe I felt it this far north. Must have been a shallow quake.
I did not see the meteorite, but I heard it was awesome. Can't wait to watch the news tonight to see if anyone has it on film.
Goodnite to all.
Anthony

This link here is usuall pretty good about showing very quakes. Not seeing any red dots on here(quakes in the past hours)...just blue and yellow(past days/weeks). It`s also good to keep a daily check on quakes around the Washington as well. So here it is. http://www.ess.washington.edu/recenteqs/latest.htm

Holy cow! Mt. St. Helens, a meterorite, and several recent small quakes. Things seem to be coming to life around here. Needless to say the weather is going to follow suit. I am still unsure about just how cold it will get next week. This latest solution shows fabulous snowfall for the mountains in the 6 - 12 day period. I emailed the people at Steven's Pass and told them they may REALLY be sorry if they do not entertain the possibility of opening later this month. They informed me their meterologist has said the same thing, and there is still a slim chance they might consder it.
No matter how this pattern change plays out, it appears it will be one of the greatest late winter pattern changes in years. I am excited whether it gets really cold or just moderatley cold....Either way it's going below normal!
Already down to 38 tonight. Finally...some more frost is near!

The Windshield is frozen this morning... Believe it or not...
Anthony I know it is rare and nearly impossible for us to get snow this late in March. I know there are more daylight hours, I know about the 500MB heights and what they need to be at for snow... I know that plain and simple stuff... I say I think there is a chance some lowlands could see some wet snow... Saying lowlands, I pretty much mean the Whatcom County area. I am not saying we are going to have a big snow event or anything like 2002 when we got almost a foot of snow on the 21st. But I do think there is a chance for some type of frozen precip before this winter is over...
And TT, thankyou for reminding me that me and snowwizz predicted this 2-3 weeks ago and everyone else said no way... Everyone said NO NO NO I WANT SUMMER AND SUNNY WEATHER... Now that everyone knows it's coming, everyone wants the change to come... TT even you said this nice weather could last throughout the entire month and even into April. you said the block was going to hold on and the GFS was messing up. I don't see why you are taking some kind of credit for predicting a pattern change... You said it would be happening by March 1st... here we are mid March and it's finally happening. and oh yeah, you are all over it... RIIIIIIIIIGHT.

And the snow chances for lowlands would be strictly based on whether a low places itself off of the washington coast and we get some good NE winds out of the Fraser River... That is the only way we'll see any frozen precip... The Heights don't have to be that low if there is a N to S pressure gradient and good Fraser Outflow. As long as the low level air is cold and the upper level is decently cold, it can snow up here in Bellingham for sure.

Brennan... you guys were saying that this was going to happen in February. I kept saying no... you will have to wait until March.
Go back and read the thread. Both you and Snow_Wiz were getting pissed because you wanted me to buy off on the idea that the ridge was going to collapse immediately. This was weeks ago.
I knew this was going to happen eventually. It took a little longer than even I thought.
