I would sure like to know what those guys are smoking. :lol:

I certainly do not see above normal temps next week...they are crazy. The chances for really cold weather are disappearing, but I don't care anymore...just give me some freaking weather! The one thing that the GFS has been consistent on is very active weather by the middle of next week. I will bet those clowns at the NWS $100.00 each that they are wrong! Do they not see the northerly flow and crashing heights...what do they pay those idiots anyway?

In his defense, I will say that he may be getting a bit frustrated and just spouted off without really thinking. The thought that some people would do that! Sheesh!

And the streak continues...another AWESOME DAY...granted a few high clouds...but 70F!!! Is it really the beginning of March?

And truth be told...where's the big pattern change for next week?! The GFS has abandoned the idea of an arctic outbreak for next week...but they still insist on a zonal flow. That's some good news. BUT...Thursday, Friday and Saturday look sunny and warm!! Actually, temperatures on Friday will probably be in the 70s over much of Western Washington. Dude, you gotta love this weather!!

Wow! What an amazing day! The sun was out, everything was perfect! It is now currently 70 F (feels hotter, and I will assume it is), and the wind is calm. The only think I didn't like about today is all the bees swarming around out there.

I was wondering if anyone is going to the State Basketball Tournament which starts tommorow at the Tacoma Dome. I am going (I get to miss most of my classes) tommorow, and possible Thursday and Friday. Tickets for these three days are only around $12.00. The finals of the tournament I believe are on Saturday and/or Sunday.

Anyone read the KOMO 4 weather discussion? http://www.komotv.com/weather/ We were warmer than Los Angeles, San Diego, and Dallas. Pretty crazy stuff.

Another piece of good news, for the future. My friend at NOAA said that since the El Nino has died there is little chance that it will come back next winter. He said it's very rare for an El Nino to rekindle that fast. Let's cross our fingers and hope that holds true this time. He also said he expects a negative AO next winter. While that does not always bring us cold by itself, it almost always does when the PNA is negative. One thing for sure...the PNA has proven it wants to be in the negative phase over the past two years.

Very odd...The ECMWF continues to hold onto the cold for next week. It shows heights of 540 with a northerly flow coming down from very high latitudes. The big difference is that it does not show the offshore ridge pinching off like the GFS. This is very unusual. I wonder which one is right.?

Mount St. Helens erupted once again...biggest eruption since its recent activity began in September. Very interesting stuff.

It's raining with 52 F here in Abbotsford. The temperature only went up to 56 F today. It's much cooler than south areas such as Seattle and Tacoma.

I believe that the high temperature for next week will be in mid 40s to lower 50s for north Washington. I am not sure how strong northerly flow will come here. If we get stronger northerly flow, we will be in mid 40s for north Washington.

I think that we will be in cooler pattern for next week because PNA will probably drop really quickly from 4 to -2 in a little time. It sounds incredible fast.

Looks as though it will go negative for a few days before once again going positive.

EDIT: According to a member over at west coast weather Camas, Washington reached 79F!

Yep, I was just watching the television coverage of it. Pretty cool to see that ash plume slowly dirfting towards Yakima, especially with the sunset. 8-)

Ok....first off,

Snow wizzard...that schoolnet thremometer must be in the sun, if yours was not reading the same temp.

Tim...you said you hit a high of 77. Awsome! I do have to ask though....is your temp sensor in the sun or all shade? I know it can be much warmer there at times due to down sloping winds, but just thought I would ask.

Well...it better be in the paper tomorrow!! Oh BTW....thoes are some pretty awsome images from the Portland webcams and other local viewers.

I was 4yrs old when MT ST Helens blew back in 1980. I lived in the same town that I do now (Stanwood area) I was in bed when this huge BOOM shook my bedroom. I remember running into my parents room scared to death, I had never heard a noise like that! We got a slight dusting of ash a few days later, but of course nothing like places east got!

Didn't hear anything tonight from this small explosion though.

What were you old timers like me :lol:

Ash now falling in the Ellensburg area!! Also Moses Lake has also been added to the ashfall advisory! I was there for the last couple of days visiting my mom there! Wish I would have stayed, that would have been awesome to see 8-)

Hey Randy..! You know what would of been really cool, is seeing the mountain erupt from the High Skyline trail at Paradise, Mt.Rainier. Now that would be a site to see!

In terms of todays weather......a wonderful day!! Nice`n warm this afternoon with partly cloudy skies. My today was 71 with a low of 42.
