Your prefered source for Hurricane Season Information

Well as I am one of storm2k forecasters I have to say storm2k is a good deal for you not only what we do forecasting but all the sat pics and additional information that the storm2k weather page has.But I always look at NHC for official information.

I posted "other sources" at poll for anyone who may have another place apart from those listed at poll.

Looking at satellite with computer models. My main source is not the nhc(Even so I enjoy reading them) it is my forecasting . In reading people like Mw or Derek Ortt is also better.

Before discovering this board last August, my main source was Accuweather Pro. But the amount of information here, and the timeliness of it - not to mention the value in being able to ask questions or pose my own ideas and get rapid feedback from experts means that Storm2k blows every other source away - no competition.

As long as I have the good sense to stay away from the politics board, that is. :D

only make life and death decisions based upon the forecasts myself and a couple of office mates put out on nwhhc.com

I will not place my life in the hands of others. I know that NHC is very reliable, its just that I feel more comfortable with my life in my own hands

Storm2k is always the first place for information. We're the first person saying, that blob will become the next TD, that TD the next storm, where will it go... With all of the gifted professionals that are here, it is always the first place to go. Plus, someone is almost always right some way or another. After Storm2k, it would probably be NRL Monterrey.

Storm2K!!!

I do admit I will look at the NHC and The Weather Channel...we don't get Accuweather here, but when I do look at other sources, I usually find that whatever they are saying has already been posted here or talked about in the chat room.

Unfortunately I have become addicted to Storm2k and many nights sat with closing eyes and bobbing head, watching if a red light came on to tell me someone else said something and waiting till the time when I knew Derek and Mike would have posted something....and who didn't look forward to Wxrisk.com......goodness I haven't seen him in so long I can't remember what he went by...is it DT?

Oh that reminds me, has anyone seen AirForceMet? He was always so informative and seemed to be a great person.

Looking forward to see what the sea brings this year!

Storm2K of course! Before I joined I would go to weather.com or watch the Tropical Update. This is so much better!

S2K here.

In times when I'm not online, I also rely also on NOAA Weather Radio and other weather sources.

We should do another poll like this when the tropics heat up. I remember COUNTLESS posts about how we were the main source of information for the folks in Florida and everywhere else last year.

We rock!! :)
