Survivor thread; Repeats to OLN July 24th(See Page 14)

"This Has Never Happened Before"

The series' 10th edition begins differently than past openers, rattling the 20 castaways, who are abandoned on Palau, a Western Pacific archipelago that's home to a vast array of historic WWII relics. "We give them no information", explains host Jeff Probst. "I talk to them, literally, for about 20 seconds(and then leave). That drives everybody crazy. The decision-making begins right away." The unusual start claims two early casualties, who get lost and don't make it to the first challenge, meaning that not one but three players are eliminated tonight.

Here's the cast(it looks like they get stranded with the clothes on their back again)

Thanks for the reminder Brent. I'm psyched. I just read this mention over at TV Guide's website. Should be interesting.....wouldn't you be so disappointed to be the first two to go? Wonder who I'll like this time around.....time will tell.

Yeah... to go through all of that and then leave the 1st day, it would suck.

Can't wait to see that show.

Matter in fact, I liked to know which 3 contestants would go home before the whole thing starts. Gotta be THAT tense, right?

No surprises... Wanda was freaking annoying(and we got to see an edited version of her) and Jolanda was trying to be bossy. I honestly think she would have stuck around had it not been for that rant after they lost.

That comment made by Willard of the Rorkor Tribe about Wanda standing and singing in the boat and him thinking *how I'd love to hit her with an oar!*

Wanda entered the wrong show...should have instead tried out for "American Idol" and then gotten the BOOT by Simon!!

I don't have a favorite yet!!! Too soon to pick one person. Possibly the NYC Firefighter.....not sure yet.

My daughter likes the male hairdresser....think his name is Coby. I keep wanting to call him Colby, from a previous Survivor!

We thought the female bartender with tatoo's was a goner. So when Jolanda got voted off, we were all surprised. But not upset in the slightest. Jolanda did annoy us.

And that singing lady! Woweee, she was an odd one. We said she'd be one of the two voted off. Just didn't see that young guy being 'voted' or not chosen, off. He seemed upset. She seemed.....happy? Okay then......back to teaching English for that lady.

Still getting to know names at this point. I need to visit the show's website, to cheat a bit. LOL

Mary,

That was truly hysterical when Wanda stood up in the boat and started crooning!!  *Thinking OH BOY!!!* Wonder if Wanda sings for her students? LOL

I felt bad though for Jonathan. :( It's about as bad as being the last one picked (except for his case not at all) for a team in school gym class...which I can relate to that.

Now Angie the bartender and those tattoos? Too bad she and Coby aren't on the same tribe as they seem to connect before the tribal pickings.

Johnathan was his name. Felt bad for him too!

Wanda! What a hoot Wanda was. Lots of W's in that sentence.....wacky Wanda? Okay, I'll stop. She's history anyway.

I thought Angie and Coby would remain tight buds and form their alliance. But he passed over her when picking for his tribe. You could tell that upset her. So time will tell. If they swap members and they wind up on the same tribe at some point, that will come out. You know the producers tucked her resentment away for future use. Since they are quite good at editing!

There's a girl from Dayton, Ohio (Huber Heights specifically) on this round of Survivor. Blond hair....named Kim possibly. She also was a Miss USA Contestant or something.

Jeff and Kim apparently get romantic next week... yes it looks like a redux of Romber, although this seems to be more serious sooner(includes cuddling!!!, on Days 4-6)

Here's a pic of Kim, the one from Dayton and an article about Survivor from my local paper:

Jeff and Kim....mmmm, can't easily combine their names! Think you might be right, they could be the next Romber.

Mary,

I saw for the preview for next week's show...and...they think that Kim and a guy named Jeff may hit it off...another possible relationship like Rob and Amber?? 8-)

That would be nice if Angie and Coby end up on the same tribe at some point in the game if there is a member swap. :)

What a beautiful place that Palau truly is with all it's rich history like those WWII wrecks, etc!

Eric - We all said the scenery this time is beautiful. Stunning actually! We all said how scenic it was until they mentioned the jellyfish. The discards tanks and machinery is sad though. They'll all have to be very careful.....guess they could pull off a Friends' spoof if someone gets stung! Did you see that episode, where Chandler has to relieve himself on Monica, to lesson her pain? Yup, apparently in an emergency situation, there's something in urine that deadens the pain from a jellyfish sting!
