No danger of any record lows though. This just happens to be when February 1956 had its big cold spell. I thought that one happend a few days before this...I am slipping.

Posting from my sisters in the town of Stanwood(I im in love with my brother-in-Laws new laptop, this thing is awesome!!!)
Now back to the weather, its much warmer here at my sisters, which is ususally the case, her current temp is 41 degrees. Her house is almost at sea level, and only about 2 miles tops from puget sound. Was down to 35 degrees at my house before I left (I am at 500FT and about 7-8miles east of puget sound)

Hey Guys! Reading back from recent posts from earlier today....some you saw snow. Well, I did to! Was cloudy when I left for work this early morning and by time I got there, it was a bit on the showery side and a bit cool. Then shortly after 9am I would say, we have a nice heavy snow shower that lasted 45min to an hour at the most. And the flakes were FLUFFLY! Big ones to! Was only enough to cause a little dusting on the trees and grass. So in my weather log, this will be going down as heavy snow squall. Also took some pics of the snow falling, so will share thoes with you all later tonight when I get home from school. -- Andy
Oh and....winter is not over yet. We can still get some winter weather between now and March 21st (frist day of spring).

I am going to make two bold predictions...
1. Bellingham will have a high in the 30s tomorrow.
2. Some locations will see lows in the upper teens on at least one of the next three nights.
Wind sheltered valleys tomorrow night will be probably see the coldest low temps of this cold snap.
Tonight will likely be the coldest night in the foothill areas. I am seeing about 22 for the Covington, Maple Valley area.
Remember, you heard it here first!

I will make some predictions...
1) True, some areas might drop into the upper teens, lower 20s but a majority should stay between 25-30F.
2) EVERYONE should be in the mid, upper 40s tomorrow...850mb heights approach -2C.
3) Next chance of rain should be Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Hi all. Viewing todays GFS...tomorrow through about the 21st should remain dry and sunny as per the 12z model, but 18z brings some light precip into our area by the 19th. 850MB temp for tomorrow are a little below -6C and warming to near 0C by about late on the 17th into 18th and staying at that temp through the weekend. 500MB voricity heights are roughly 552DM and drop to around 546DM by the 21st. So looks like we can enjoy some nice upcoming sunny days! Though it should be quite chilly during the early morning hours! -- Andy

No doubt, is that wild or what considering how dry we have been!
That used to always happen during the summer, (not the last 2 though, those were dry on everyday of the week) but I can remember being nice and sunny/warm all week, then bam rain and cool on the weekends. That used to drive me nuts.
And it doesn't matter if it was sunny and 90 degrees on the 3rd of July, the 4th was always cold, windy, and wet! Then on the 5th is when summer started

Want nice weather??
500mb heights rise from 5460 this afternoon to 5640 by Wednesday afternoon... a jump of 180 meters.
And 850mb temperatures rise from -8C now to +1C by Wednesday.
With offshore flow... dry air... and sunshine.
It looks like 50's all around by Wednesday afternoon... and even warmer on Thursday.
Here is the latest run of the ETA (NAM) for Wednesday... with 500mb heights this high it WILL BE BEAUTIFUL.

TT...I would consider the kind of weather we had today nice. Those higher heights later in the week, will take that nice crisp chill out of the air during the days. Call me strange, but I love walking in nice crisp and cold air. If the offshore gradients go flat later in week, it could still be much cooler than expected. We will see. At any rate, lots of cold nights.
Today was already our 40th low of 32 or below. Tomorrow will be the 9th low of 25 or below. The most since 1996 - 97.

Wow, I think I'm gonna update one prediction that I made earlier...
1) While some may drop into the upper teens, lower 20s a majority should stay between 25-30F.
UPDATE: Considering it's already 29F with a dewpoint of 25F, I'll say a majority should drop between 20-25F...with the coldest spots dropping between 17-21F.
With strong radiational cooling, a light northeasterly wind and very low dewpoints this will probably be one of the coldest nights of the year.
