Current freezing rain just changed over to light snow. What's up with that?!

Still heavy ice pellets here, but temp has dropped down to 31.0 degrees!

Oh wait, snow starting to fall now!!

All snow all of a sudden! Temp continuing to fall, but dewpoint up to 24.5 degrees.
Things are turning white.

Just got home... snowing all the way down the hill from Snoqualmie Pass.

Sleet / Snow coming down hard here in North Bend with a temperature of 30.6 and dewpoint of 18.

Lots of big flakes flying.

The web cams show no snow from Olympia to Bellingham.

Rainy around Seattle... and still dry in Arlington and Burlington and points north.

Good snow falling here in North Bend with wicked winds... trees are bending over.

Once you move away from the water a little bit, things turn over to Ice Pellets and Snow.

It was snowing here, but it's turned back to ice pellets/freezing rain. We got about a half inch. Everything coated with white and ice. Not sure what to say at this point. Maybe the surface low off the coast is dragging down further arctic air?! I don't know. What does everyone else think?

I'm thinking about the same thing, cold air coming from B.C.

It reminds me of Minnesota here right now.

The winds are amazing... probably gusting to 40 mph and snow blowing sideways.

I told my wife that tomorrow will be calm (we never really get SW winds here in North Bend - its the east winds that get us), much warmer, and probably dry.

Back to a moderate freezing rain. A heavy band of precipitation developed over Everett and points north. That heavy precip pulled colder air down from higher altitudes and turned everything to snow. Since that band has passed, it's warmer and thus it's turned back to freezing rain.
