Weeks after being affected by probably the most deadly tsunami (harbor wave) in history, Sri Lanka is being affected now by the outer bands of the disturbance.

Oh no! The last thing Sri Lanka needs right now is a cyclone!

TC 1B has developed near the island-nation of Sri Lanka; when things go wrong, they really do, and this is a great example. After being hit by an extremely deadly tsunami, now a weak cyclone could produce heavy rains in devastated areas increasing even more the possibility of deceases.

it appears that the track should take it over or near Galle on the south coast. coincidently, this area was the site of some of the worst damage. i certainly hope it remains a minimal cyclone. it is forecast to remain at depression/minimal storm strength and impact Galle on 1/10. according to the JTWC, the track forecast is somewhat uncertain
