Question for fellow Floridians?????????

#1 Postby TheShrimper » Thu Dec 16, 2004 4:53 pm

Please let me know if anyone has seen any interesting T-Shirts for sale in your areas pertaining to the four hurricanes that plagued us this year. I have seen a few distributed around here on Pine Island and was wondering if any are being offered in your communities. I have no problem in purchasing some especially if part of the monies raised are going to relief funds. I have done a search on the computer and most are of the generic versions. Also, somewhere I saw a vanity plate for novelty purposes only, that depicts the traditional Fla. licsence tag, but the orange in the middle has been replaced by a hurricane symbol and the 'Sunshine State" was replaced with "the Hurricane State" at the bottom. The numbers in the middle were deleted and something like "Screwed" took thier place. If anyone has any info on these request please post it and the websites if they are available. The ones I have seen on the web are produced by out of state companies that do not sport the flavor of small town companies that were directly impacted. Thanks for any help. I would love to have one of those tags if anyone knows where to buy one. Stay warm!

Thanks Lou for those sites, I will check them out. Rainband, this Pine Island is located between the barrier islands of Sanibel, Captiva, Cayo Costa and Cape Coral, which is on the mainland. It is 17 miles long, with St. James City to the south and Bokeelia on the north end. Needless to say, Bokeelia and the whole island really was Ground Zero. We caught the east eyewall, I am sure you have seen the pictures.

I don't know if you wish to purchase those online but you might want to make a trip to Port Charlotte. I know a few days after Charley, they had T-shirts made and seen people wearing them.

Don't kown where they can be purchased but the 'Rainbow Fleemarket' - Veterans Blvd, Port Charlotte - sells all kind of funky things, even license plates, perhaps they have items like you are looking for.
