Look in other basins.

If you like an active season, you just need to monitor the WPAC, if you like tranquil seasons but with some actions, look at the CPAC; but if you are that kind of a person that loves to see a hurricane just one time every century, don't miss the South Atlantic Ocean!!!!

Wow, my hurricane friends it certaintly has been a long time! I have been so bored and have not been visiting this site much since hurricane season ended. It has been a very mild winter here in southeast Louisiana so far. A cold front has came through and made it feel more like Christmas here. We were in T-shirts and shorts over here for the last couple of weeks. All of our cool fronts have been very short lived.

6 more months until Hurricane Season 2005!!! While hurricanes fascinates me, I hope we don't see any major impact for the United States this year. I hope Florida is spared this year. I am planning a trip to Destin, Florida the first week in August. So, I hope everything is good then weatherwise. Anyone has any early thoughts about what states will be affected the 2005 season? Just curious on what everyone has to say.

I hope everyone is having a Happy Holiday Season. I just took my Yorkie to take pictures with Santa at Pet Smart. It was very hard trying to get her to keep still.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!! HAVE A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR OF 2005!!!!!!!

Too early yet for me to come out with any specific numbers, but I do expect average to slightly above average tropical cyclone activity. I dont expect El Nino to be a factor, which would favor tropical cyclone formation, but unfortunately I am not as knowlegable as others on this board as to other inhibiting/favorable conditions. I will use the down time during the off season to further educate myself pre season forecasting. Hopefully by April I will have numbers to post!
