NOAA PROVIDES WRAP-UP ON VERY ACTIVE 2004 ATLANTIC HURRICANE SEASON

Nov. 30, 2004 — The 2004 Atlantic hurricane season was one for the record books, say NOAA hurricane and climate prediction specialists. Nine named storms affected the United States during the six-month hurricane season—three as tropical storms (Bonnie, Hermine and Matthew) and six as hurricanes (Alex, Charley, Frances, Gaston, Ivan and Jeanne). Three of the hurricanes (Charley, Ivan, and Jeanne) made landfall as major hurricanes. Nature's favorite target this season was the state of Florida, which was affected by four hurricanes and one tropical storm.

They should haved waited until the very end when Otto dissipates but I know that every november 30th they do the recap.

Every hurricane season is unique; thus, we always have something new to comment about. That's what I like about hurricanes, each one is unique, and has something special to offer, bad or good.

You're very correct on that statement. When I would think there will be no more records to be broken for next year, new ones pop up.

Don't be surprised if next year, we see many records broken...

Lets hope they are none of the records set this year. Or houston we may have a problem

Amen, Wnghs2007.

I've heard rumblings that predictions for next year are leaning toward a much less active landfalling season...
But that may just be wishful thinking.
