It's officially over...

#1 Postby CentralFloridaGal » Tue Nov 30, 2004 1:35 am

What a season - glad it's over and never want to see another like it.

Floridians have crept out of their hiding places and traded in their plywood for holiday decorations.

Not over yet! Otto may form at 11AM and save the season! If he forms, he'll be my hero of the 2004 season. Not Storm of the Year, obviously, but he'll definitely be remembered as the storm that saved the 2004 season. :D

E-Pac, you might wanna stick a "CO-" beside "CHAMPIONS" on your banner that you prematurely made!!! :P

Well this was a great season for tropical Entrepenuears but for the people of the SE US especially Florida it was not.

That was a great article Ice :)

Although the damage in our local area above Orlando wasn't quite as intense as in Pensacola or down in Charlotte County, we still have our share of blue tarps and remnants of large toppled oaks with roots pointing at passers-by as a reminder that we survived. Yesterday, 5 houses on my block finally got their turn for roofers to trample across and make repairs/replace shingles.

No, we don't need anymore storms this year to make the record books or to be memorable. I think that's been established already.

Officially it's over at 00Z Dec 1st (7pm EST Nov 30th) with the new season beginning 00Z Jun 1st (6pm EDT May 31st). Technically it's ends and begins (record keeping-wise) at 00Z Jan 1st (7pm EST Dec 31st).

Wow, the season is a little longer! Personally I think they should extend the season by 15 days. This is the 5th storm in the past 7 years that was in December.
