I was reading some website and the guy on it (it might have been Gary Padgett) had an excellent idea.

His idea was to stop using the term "major hurricane" for a hurricane Category 3 or higher.

After all, even Category 1 hurricanes are capable of producing major damage. It depends on many factors.

His suggestion was to call Category 3+ hurricanes "intense hurricanes".

That would make sense.

I like that idea as in a sense you he is very right. Thanks for telling us this.
