Winter Temps and precip update from December thru Febuary

Cooler than normal in the SE US and warmer than normal in the westnorthwest area and in Alaska.

I hope that forecast holds true. Have they updated the precip maps?

yeah they did and i think a big part of it will bust with the exception of the above normal precip they have down in TX and that area.

Is NOAA expecting a below normal LES season then I guess in the Western GL? :?:

So if here in Houston we have a colder and wetter winter months, does that mean some winter precip? I really need to see some! but on a weekend, when the traffic isnt as bad.. lol..

Depends on how strong that cold air is. I would think that you better drive north some if you want to see some winter precip though. IMO, Houston won't see much, if any winter precip this winter.

Really cant answer that one Yoda. My problem with them is they are mainly basing this on a full fledged El'Ninio and not much else which is wrong to do imo. I mean come on the pac nw below normal? I dont think so. As far as this area is concerned i would have went with Neutral because with patterns like i and a few others are expecting some winters out this way end up dry and others go way above normal with respect to precip. Believe me i know because i have did alot of research into this.

When are you coming out with your winter outlook KOW? I would think that your area would definitely get some decent snow around the lakes. :wink:
