Well, if you insist.

Got an image of Hurricane Elena in the Gulf? I mean other than that famous one taken from space.

Also, do you have an image of Hurricane Bob, also from 1985?

I have to say that this is an outstanding project.

I do have a question though. What methods are you using to replenish these sat images and are the origional cloud top heights being distorted at all

E-Pac Hurricane Pauline from 1997.
Hurricane Claudette from 1991
Tropical Storm Ana from 1979
Either Arlene or Bret from 1981

Thanks in advance

I am using my special PHOTOLAB....my own....secret  No the cloud tops are not being distorted. Simply adding more brightness to the picture and retouching it somewhat could be the difference from if your looking at a hurricane in the middle of the gulf, or south of the Azores.

How about Danny, 1985 and Edith, 1971, when it was in the NW Gulf? I also wonder if there are any satellite pics of H. Betsy in the Gulf. I've seen some when it was still in the Atlantic, before hitting Florida. Hilda is another ellusive storm. I've seen a single poor quality satellite picture of it, but I am unable to reproduce it. It's buried in microfilm of one of the Baton Rouge newspapers from that period, either the Advocate or the State Times, cannot remember which. Never seen one of Carmen either, at least, not in the Gulf, though seems like I saw one from when it was in the Caribbean. Does anyone know if Carla was before weather satellite?

I think weather satellite debuted in April 1960. The earliest hurricane satellite pic I have in my collection is one of Hurricane Donna from 1960.

It's while Donna was heading towards the Florida Keys as a Category 4. Considering weather satellite had only been around a few months, the quality of the pic is surprisingly good.

I found it in a Florida hurricanes book at my college.

Storms I have searched high and low for satellite pics and have turned up empty-handed:

Hurricane Hattie 1961
Hurricane Flora 1963
Hurricane Cleo 1964 (I have a radar pic)
Hurricane Dora 1964
Hurricane Hilda 1964
Hurricane Carmen 1974 (I have a radar pic)
Hurricane Fifi 1974
Hurricane Diana 1990
Hurricane Klaus 1990
(Considering the last two are rather recent, I'm surprised there's nothing on Diana and Klaus)

Would you happen to have an image of Hurricane Frances from 1980, or a picture of Hurricane Frederic east of the Caribbean in 1979?

OK...one thing I need everybody to know...if you save them to your computer, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT right click...save as. Copy them, and open up paint, and then save to your computer. My site is almost out of bandwidth.
