tropical development in the caribbean?

A strong storm with gale force winds is located just east-northeast of Bermuda and is lashing the island with strong winds and occasional showers. Thunderstorms associated with this storm are located away from the center, but part of the storm may try to develop tropical characteristics over the next couple of days. Much like Nicole, this storm could become a subtropical storm as it pushes north to northeast away from the island during the upcoming week. A piece of the system will be left behind to move southwestward toward the Caribbean by the weekend and will have to be watched for potential tropical development. A tropical wave is approaching Trinidad and Tobago from the east and will move into the eastern Caribbean Sea on Monday. Thunderstorms with the wave remain disorganized and strong westerly winds aloft will prevent the wave from developing into a tropical system over the next few days.

We'll watch the western Caribbean since that is a hot spot for tropical development if that does indeed occur.

Hey rainstorm, I was at Virginia Beach yesterday at sunrise and it was just one amazing sunrise down there. Being at the ocean front at the right time was just incredible. That ocean storm offshore has resulted in higher waves yesterday in the VAB area too with 6-9 footers within the surf zone. There was even sea foam on the beach on the edge of the surf. This was all due to swells from that offshore ocean storm, not wind.
