I-65 Corridor - Downed Trees & Blue Roofs

As I drove north on I-65 to Northern Tennesee on Monday (10/11), then back south again on Tuesday, I was AMAZED at the number of trees that were knocked down along the highway.

Big ones, small ones, and everyting in between - the damage was quite evident almost as far north as Montgomery!! Ivan's winds were really kicking to have had that much impact that far north of the coast. Some of it looked like tornado-type damage, but for the most part it looked like straight-line winds that blew through and just layed things over.

And the "blue roofs" were plentiful as well. Even after discussing all the impact here on the forum, I was still amazed at what I saw...

Yeah... there was widespread power outages following Ivan all the way up into North Alabama. We had at least 55-60 mph gusts for a prolonged period that Thursday and we were 120 miles east of the center.

Well... I was amazed!! I'm not sure even Fredrick had that kind of impact so far inland. I'm thinking you probably had tornadoes in your neighborhood too??

No confirmed(or suspected) tornado touchdowns here. There were a few warnings though. I'm pretty far north up in Central Alabama.
