DId I hear correctly that a movie about this Hurricane season will be out? I'd love to get a copy of it. Who's doing it?

I do know that a guy who works for me was approached by the Discovery Channel for the video tape he shot before, during and after the storm (Ivan). Don't think they wanted for a "movie" but they did take it for use in an upcoming documentary. I'll post when he gets the word about when the show will be aired.

Movie of 2004 hurricanes

#4 Postby hurricanetrack » Thu Oct 14, 2004 12:35 pm

Hey- figured I would let you know that I am producing a 90 minute DVD/VHS movie (well video) of the hurricanes. Since I Was there for all of them with my field team- we have some excellent video- not seen anywhere else.

Check it out at http://www.hurricanetrack.com/dvd2004.html

Hope this helps. I am sure there are other videos out there- just thought I would promote mine since it is going to have so much packed in to it.

I've been looking forward to that DVD, Mark. Just from the clips I've seen so far, it should be awesome!

I was going to wait for Christmas, but I saw on the link that supplies are limited. So don't wait folks! :)

Might as well join in on the thread with a little plug. Im really looking forward to viewing Marks DVD release since he was chasing some of the storms I did miss this season in NC. Plus viewing his location during Charley as we both encountered very impressive winds.

As for our DVD release. We released our Hurricane Charley Intercept DVD last week. It is the complete encounters in Punta Gorda, FL from start to end. Full details can be found at http://www.weathervine.com

Next month we will be releasing a combo DVD with Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne from Hutchinson Island Florida. Video samples are also located on http://www.weathervine.com

In Feb/Mar 2005 there is a chance we will be hosting a hurricane video viewing event in Orlando, FL. This will be open to the public and I will be talking with all the hurricane chasers about maybe making a apperance with video from the 2004 season. There is alot we would like to add to the event and things are in the works. I hope to have more information by the end of the year.

Thanks everyone,
Jeff Gammons
