Storm2k meetup

#1 Postby LaPlaceFF » Wed Oct 13, 2004 3:04 pm

Has anyone ever thought about storm2k members meeting up somewhere? The only one I have met is Mark Sudduth (hurricanetrack)

We've had several Houston/Galveston area meet ups. And I had the pleasure of meeting another member in NYC in 2002. We've tried to get a big get together going, and it is very difficult with people so spread out. I would encourage people that are in certain areas to at least try what we have done here in Houston and get together to toast the season start or end or whatever. There seem to be plenty in the NO area, the P'cola area, the MS gulf coast area, etc. Florida could probably do a big get together for the central area so people wouldn't have to travel too far. I guess you get the idea. I would love for us all to have a big get together somewhere, but last time we tried it we just couldn't pull it together. If we got enough we would probably be able to get special rates too, unless of course someone owns a huge house or motel.

I have an interesting idea. Let's organize all the Storm2K'ers in the Mid Atlantic Region, to meet up in the OBX. Like in Nags Head. That is a truly beautiful place for the Mid Atlantic Storm2K'ers to get together. We could take over an entire floor of a hotel there and stay for a few days.

Man that would be so sweet!!!

It was 77 degrees in Nags Head today BTW.
